The Plug’n’Free series is a silent revolution in off-grid living and beyond. Designed to eliminate the complexities and risks of DIY installation, it is believed to be the first system of its kind—making off-grid power simple, reliable, and virtually fail-proof.
Developed from 20 years of experience in off-grid systems, Plug’n’Free combines progressive engineering with exceptional craftsmanship in one refined, mature package. It represents a leap forward in solar technology: a fully self-contained, genuinely plug-and-play power system—“made in New Zealand.”
This is the first model in the Plug’n’Free series, designed for tiny homes with a 16A caravan power connection. Ideal for the small budget or site offices with intermitted power demand of up to 4kW.
Keep potential fire hazards safely away from your home or worksite. Connected with a standard power cord, these plug-and-play systems are ready to use within seconds. They can be placed directly on the ground or used as solar trailers when properly secured for transport. This eliminates the need for a WOF and can significantly reduce installation costs.
The system is built with high-quality, heavy-duty components. Its simplicity is not amateurish—it is intentional. Beyond the technology itself, all components are locally sourced and intelligently packaged, with a proven track record spanning more than five years.
Most owners of an off-grid system have been faced with several issues and trouble before they achieved something that works. You need to identify a suitable area, selecting components and set it up. Then there is an electrician required to make the sockets and switchboards. This is not done in an evening and have driven many off-gridders nuts and made them poor. Non of this should cause your headaches anymore because this system arrives ready to connect—simply plug it in and start using it.
The base system includes:
- 6 × 550W Jinergy solar panels — 3.3kW total capacity
- 1 × 65–80A MPPT charge controller
- 1 × 4kW low-frequency inverter with up to 96% peak efficiency
- 15kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery
- Intelligent cooling and temperature-control system
- Two-compartment internal layout
- External 10A generator input
The system also includes a complete AC installation with customised connectors:
- 1 × 16A caravan socket
- 2 × 15A domestic sockets
- 2 × 15A excess-power sockets
All components are housed in a water-resistant, galvanised-steel cabinet. Each socket is individually fused and protected by an RCD.
Safety features include:
- Emergency AC shutdown, lockable in the off position
- Externally accessible solar isolator
- Externally accessible battery isolator with MCCB protection
